How important are common interests in a relationship?
To answer your question, common interests are important in a relationship, but not as much as most people think. I'm sure you've heard the saying "Opposites Attract"? As long as you both share SOME things in common (and they don't have to be major things like political stances or even religion) then you should be fine. My boyfriend and I have been together for 7 years and we are two very different people. Sure it has caused some arguments because we are both strongly opinionated, but we respect each other's points of view and agree to disagree. Focus on bonding over the things you DO have in common.
