Can I use the semicolon in this way?

In your first sentence it would look better if you used a comma or just a period. A comma for the second one too. And in the last paragraph a whole new sentence would work a lot better. Semicolons should really only be used for sentences that need them. If you can take a sentence and break it up into two complete thoughts it makes you seem more adept and more educated.
